Role purpose:

The Head of Region will be responsible to fully Manage the allocated regions at all commercial Business unit KPIs, with dedicated focus on Prepaid, Retail, Marketing and office Administration. The main function in the Regions  will be to drive Subscriber Registration/Gross Adds and MPesa penetrations, Manage the wholesale and retail dealers, Manage the WICCs and retail dealers stores,  guarantee that our brand is in accordance to company standards and our trade Marketing activities are in place.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Full accountability of the allocated Regions in all CBU KPIs
  • Grow the Regional business via gross connections and revenue
  • Manage and Execute well the Prepaid, retail and marketing strategies in the ground
  • Ensure the service levels and stock management in our own stores and all dealers stores
  • Maintain our Brand leadership within the Region
  • Manage and develop people 

Key performance indicators:

  • Customers, M-pesa customers, Revenue and Retail sales targets – Measure against company targets
  • Delivery on Customer experience KPIs set such us: waiting time, first time resolution of customer queries in store and Transactional Net Promoter Score.
  • Brand Awareness and trade Marketing execution

Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

  • Customer FOCUS – Customer centric
  • Excellent Ability to Manage a team and support staff with right guidance
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • Successful previous experience as a  commercial manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Strong ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and an ability to assimilate complex data and information from disparate sources  

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Degree on Business Management, Sales, Marketing or related field
  • Further diplomas and certificates on, Distribution, Retails, Marketing will be an advantage
  • Minimum 5 years professional experience on large Telecom company
  • Experience in Sales & Distribution and/or Commercial/Customer facing departments will be an added advantage 

Risks: 40-60% in trade Visits and Region trips (Districts) – Driving is a risk
