Job Description

  • Schedules initial and regular Fitness for Work medical assessments for TEPMA1 employees, liaising with employees, HR and occupational medical service providers
  • Develops and maintains a database of medical records for employees and Contractors in Organic positions containing confidential information
  • Point of contact for day-to day health support at the offices
  • Supports HR department in liaising and managing medical aid and EAP service provider
  • Liaises with C&P for procurement processes related to health supplies and services (e.g. PR creation and assessment of proposals etc.)
  • Inspects first aid kits and maintains stock control of first aid supplies and health-related PPE including masks and sanitizers
  • Coordinates scheduling and delivery of first aid training for TEPMA1 employees in all offices
  • Collects information from various sources and compiles health performance reports
  • Responsible for the content, coordination and deployment of Health awareness and promotion initiatives, campaigns and inductions
  • Coordinates and maintains records for health and hygiene inspections and audits conducted at Project facilities
  • Maintains electronic records of all health programs, procedures and plans
  • Prepares and liaises with communication team for organization of health events
  • Takes notes and minutes in health-related meetings
  • Supports the implementation of health and hygiene protocols in the Maputo office


Context and environment

  • This position is based in Maputo and will support health activities for the Project in all locations in Mozambique including in Palma, Afungi and Pemba
  • Handles employee medical information which shall be maintained strictly confidential

Candidate profile

  • Degree in a subject such as health science, occupational health, or other related to health care settings
  • Demonstrable experience within Occupational Health settings, preferably private sector experience
  • Experience of attending, presenting and hosting wellness and health promotion days
  • Knowledge of Outlook, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
